Plain-language change summary

The bill SB 1469 has shifted its focus from appropriating funds to the Department of Water Resources to directing those funds to the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona. This change is important because it clarifies the organization responsible for overseeing the distribution of nearly $42 million for essential water infrastructure projects in the city of Page, including improvements to wastewater treatment and pipeline construction. Moreover, the revised bill emphasizes the city's responsibility to seek additional federal funding, ensuring that state funds are efficiently used.
