What changed in the latest version
33 added · 14 removedPlain-language change summary
The revised HB 2413 reduces the number of peremptory challenges in criminal cases from six to four for each party involved. This change is significant because it limits the ability of parties to dismiss potential jurors without cause, potentially speeding up the jury selection process. Additionally, the removal of sections related to civil actions simplifies the bill, focusing solely on criminal matters. This streamlined approach aims to address urgent legal needs more effectively, as the bill is labeled as an emergency measure.
