Plain-language change summary

The new version of Bill SB 1475 removes specific references to voter registration and penalties related to falsification of citizenship, focusing instead on the enforcement of election laws by the attorney general. It simplifies the bill's scope by eliminating earlier sections about elector qualifications. This change matters because it streamlines the legislation, making it clearer that the attorney general is empowered to enforce election laws, potentially strengthening oversight in elections without complicating the registration process for voters.
