The recent amendment to SB 1312 introduced new provisions regarding how funds from special license plates will be managed and allocated for state highway projects. Specifically, it clarifies that any remaining funds from these projects will be transferred to the state highway fund once all project obligations are fully met. This change is important because it ensures that any unspent money will be redirected toward future transportation needs, potentially improving how efficiently state resources are used for infrastructure development.
