Plain-language change summary

The latest version of Bill HB 2671 introduced some key changes regarding the management of funds related to underground storage tanks. Most notably, it removes a provision that allowed annual transfers of tax revenues to a water quality assurance fund, meaning that funds will be more strictly allocated only for specific corrective actions. This change is important because it clarifies the use of funds and could affect the speed and efficiency of addressing environmental issues related to underground storage tanks, ensuring that financial resources are directed toward immediate remediation efforts.
