Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to SB 1685 clarify the disciplinary procedures for school administrators who violate certain policies. The bill specifies that administrators can face up to a ten-day suspension without pay, but cannot be dismissed without following established notice, hearing, and appeal processes. This ensures that administrators have protections in place if they are facing disciplinary actions, promoting fair treatment in handling such situations. Additionally, the bill emphasizes the importance of communication around concussions and mandates that parents and students acknowledge risks before participating in sports, which is critical for student safety.
