The revised version of SB 1463 introduces eligibility for tribal colleges alongside community colleges and includes more detailed requirements for applicants. It specifies that students must submit a high school transcript showing a minimum GPA and ensures that grant amounts are adjusted for those taking fewer than twelve credit hours. These changes broaden access to financial support for students attending various types of institutions, potentially increasing educational opportunities for a wider range of learners in Arizona.

definition A. Beginning August 1, 2020, each community college district governing board and tribal college shall administer community college opportunity grants for eligible students as prescribed in subsection C of this section. The grants shall be used to pay for tuition and approved educational fees for up to eighteen credit hours at any tribal college or community college within the community college district for one year.
