Plain-language change summary

The updated version of SB 1001 clarifies that homeowners' associations can foreclose on liens for unpaid assessments only after a year of delinquency or if the amount owed exceeds $1,200. It also specifies that certain fees related to late payments and other charges are not enforceable as assessments. These changes are important because they aim to protect homeowners from aggressive foreclosure practices while still allowing associations to collect what they are owed.
