The recent amendments to HB 2848 add a requirement that any eligibility determinations made under the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System must be approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This change emphasizes the need for federal oversight in the process, potentially ensuring that state practices comply with national standards. This matters because it could enhance the quality and accessibility of healthcare services for eligible residents, aligning state policies with federal requirements.
