Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Senate Bill 1404 allows both cities and counties to maintain existing regulations on occupations that require licensing or fees. Additionally, it specifically permits them to impose new fees or licensing on structured sober living homes and adult service providers. These changes clarify the authority of local governments to manage licensing for certain businesses and services, which could impact the operation and oversight of these entities in the community. This is important as it ensures that local governments can address specific needs and standards for businesses that cater to vulnerable populations or industries.
