The recent changes to SB 1465 establish that local cities and towns can adopt specific standards for structured sober living homes while ensuring they're in line with fair housing laws. Importantly, the address of these homes will not be made public, except to law enforcement and emergency responders, protecting residents' privacy. Additionally, the bill now supports policies that allow individuals on medication-assisted treatment to continue their care while living in sober homes, which is crucial for their recovery. These changes aim to enhance safety and support for individuals seeking recovery in their communities.
