The recent changes to Bill SB 1063 include the renaming of a section to highlight both marketing and produce safety, which emphasizes the importance of safe practices in the agricultural sector. Additionally, the definition of "commodity" was clarified to specifically refer to regulated citrus, fruit, or vegetable products. These adjustments are significant because they aim to strengthen food safety standards and provide clearer guidelines for producers, which ultimately benefits both farmers and consumers by helping ensure the quality and safety of agricultural products.
