Chris Neugent Thomson Reuters D2-4304 Opperman Drive Eagan, MN  55123-1340   Re:  House Bill 2229 (Chapter 279)   Dear Mr.
Neugent:
In the chapter version of section 15-393, Arizona Revised Statutes, as amended by Laws 2017, chapter 279, section 2, the following language was inadvertently inserted in subsection T on page 11, lines 14 through 23:
"If the joint board determines that the school district or charter school is in violation of this subsection, the joint board may withhold up to ten percent of the total state aid apportionment that is otherwise due the school district or charter school from the joint district.  When the joint board determines that the school district or charter school is in compliance with this subsection, the joint board shall restore the amount of state aid withheld to the school district or charter school, except that the joint board may retain up to five percent of these monies as a penalty against the school district or charter school."         Pursuant to the authority of section 41-1304.02, Arizona Revised Statutes, the material inadvertently inserted in subsection T was removed in the chapter version to correct a manifest clerical error.  Please change the text of the chapter version of this section before publication to reflect the change.
                                      Sincerely,                                         Michael E.
