The bill HB 2485 has been amended to clarify the retirement options for state elected officials, specifying that if they choose not to participate in the public safety personnel retirement plan, they must enroll in the Arizona state retirement system. This change also highlights that the decision not to participate is final for their entire term, which is important because it affects their future retirement benefits. Overall, these amendments aim to ensure elected officials understand their retirement choices and the consequences of their decisions.
