Plain-language change summary

The amendments to SB 1318 clarify and adjust the rules for candidates running for public office in Arizona. The updated text now specifies that individuals cannot run for multiple offices on the same election day if it would prevent them from serving in those positions at the same time. Additionally, while candidates can run for president or vice president along with one other federal office, the rules limit individuals seeking more than one statewide office at the same time. This matters because it aims to ensure that elected officials can dedicate their attention effectively to their roles, reducing potential conflicts of interest and ensuring clear accountability.
