Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Senate Bill 91 clarify the conditions under which out-of-state physicians can provide telehealth services to patients in Alaska. The changes emphasize that these services can only be offered if the healthcare service is unavailable in the state and require that the physician has previously established a relationship with the patient. This matters because it aims to ensure that patients receive appropriate care from familiar providers while addressing potential gaps in local healthcare access.
