What changed in the latest version
53 added · 57 removedPlain-language change summary
In the revised version of HB 169, the bill clarified that the fish stocking activities permitted under the law "will not harm fish stocks" instead of specifically mentioning "local wild fish stocks." This change broadens the scope of the protection, ensuring that all fish stocks are considered in the approval process. Additionally, the timeline for the department to act on permit applications remains unchanged, but any potential failure to respond would still result in automatic permit approval. This matters because it simplifies the language and strengthens assurances for the sustainability of all fish populations in the area.
