Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Bill HB 230 has removed the limit on how many years of out-of-state school experience teachers can count toward their in-state salary scales. This change allows retired teachers, as well as those new to Alaska, to have more flexibility in recognizing their previous work experience. This matters because it may attract more qualified teachers to Alaska and support the state's efforts to address teacher shortages, ultimately benefiting students and schools across the state.
