What changed in the latest version
50 added · 30 removedPlain-language change summary
In the updated version of SB 81, the process for appointing the victims' advocate has changed. Previously, the nomination required a joint session of the Legislature with a roll call vote, but now it only needs to be ratified by two-thirds of both the Senate and the House separately. This change simplifies the appointment process, making it potentially easier and quicker to fill the position, which is important for supporting victims' rights effectively. Additionally, some specific language regarding compensation has been clarified to ensure the victims' advocate and their staff are properly compensated according to the state salary schedule.
