Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Bill HB 56 exempts veterinarians from the requirements of the controlled substance prescription database when they prescribe or dispense controlled substances for animals. This change aims to reduce administrative burdens on veterinarians, allowing them to provide care more efficiently without unnecessary red tape. This exemption matters because it can help ensure that pets and other animals receive timely treatment while still maintaining safety standards surrounding controlled substances.
