Plain-language change summary

The latest version of House Bill 4 includes changes to campaign contribution regulations. Specifically, it now establishes stricter timelines for when individuals or groups can make contributions to candidates, prohibiting donations until 18 months before a general or special election. This aims to create a clearer framework for campaign financing, which can help reduce the influence of money in politics and promote transparency in election processes. Additionally, it modifies reporting requirements for nongroup entities, enhancing the details needed for contributions that exceed certain amounts, thereby increasing accountability.
