Plain-language change summary

The changes to HB 264 clarify the Department of Family and Community Services' responsibilities by requiring them to adopt a uniform screening tool instead of just developing a shared methodology for screening minors. This tool is aimed at identifying minors who are victims or at risk of sexual abuse or trafficking, which will provide a consistent approach across shelters. This is important because it ensures that all minors in vulnerable situations are assessed adequately and uniformly, potentially leading to better protection and support for those at risk.
