Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to House Bill 28 include the removal of a requirement for individuals seeking to prevent the publication of their marijuana possession records to pay a fee of at least $150. This change means that eligible individuals, who have been convicted of specific minor marijuana offenses and meet certain criteria, can now have their records removed from public websites without financial cost. This matters because it makes it easier for people to clear their records, which can help them move forward without the stigma or barriers that a past conviction might create.
