Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to HB 126 expand its scope significantly by adding provisions related to telehealth, emergency medical services, and patient records, among other topics. These changes mean the bill will now also focus on ensuring fair treatment for associate counselors under health insurance and enhancing the healthcare professional workforce. This matters because it aims to improve access to mental health services and support for counselors, thereby benefiting both providers and patients in Alaska.
