Plain-language change summary

The changes in the latest version of HB 9 clarify the process for appointing a faculty member to the Board of Regents. Instead of the governor selecting from a list of "all interested faculty members," the appointment will now come from a list of two faculty members nominated by each of the three faculty senates, ensuring a more organized and representative selection process. This matters because it gives faculty a direct role in the nomination process, potentially leading to better representation of their interests on the Board. Additionally, the requirement for a quorum of seven regents remains the same, ensuring that decisions are made with adequate representation.
