Plain-language change summary

The amendment to House Bill 111 introduces a provision that allows licensed dental hygienists with at least 4,000 hours of clinical experience to obtain an advanced practice permit. This permit enables them to perform additional tasks, including promoting oral health, removing stains and deposits from teeth, and providing basic assessments. This change is significant because it expands the roles of dental hygienists, potentially improving access to dental care and education for patients while also ensuring that these professionals are qualified to perform these advanced tasks.
