Plain-language change summary

The changes to SB 80 involve the removal of the requirement for the state board to consult with the Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault when developing guidelines for personal safety instruction in schools. Instead, the bill now specifies that guidelines for mental health will be created in consultation with a broader range of mental health organizations, but does not mention the Council. This matters because it shifts the focus from a specialized group that deals with domestic violence and sexual assault to a more general mental health consultation, potentially altering the depth and focus of the personal safety education provided in schools.
