Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill HB 48 lowers the time frame for students to graduate from high school in order to be eligible for the Alaska performance scholarship program, from 12 months to 6 months. Additionally, it specifies that students must have completed a core academic curriculum, which includes an Alaska Native language, rather than just being enrolled in it. These changes aim to encourage more recent graduates to apply for the scholarship and ensure a stronger focus on cultural education as part of the qualifications.
