Plain-language change summary

The amendments to SB 85 primarily change the language describing the bill's focus from "relating to disposal procedures for selling timber" to a broader scope that emphasizes "negotiated timber sales." This shift matters because it reflects a more flexible approach to how timber sales are conducted, potentially streamlining the process for selling state resources. Additionally, the revisions clarify the decision-making authority of the director regarding contracts, allowing for more efficient management in the interest of the state.
