The amendment to Bill SB 169 removes references to specific professionals, such as mechanical and fire protection engineers, who can conduct fire and life safety inspections, allowing for a broader range of certified individuals to be involved in this process. Additionally, it specifies that findings of noncompliance from inspections will no longer need to be submitted to local offices in municipalities with their own fire and life safety programs. These changes aim to streamline the inspection process while ensuring that essential safety measures are still upheld. This shift could make it easier for building owners to ensure compliance and adhere to safety standards without unnecessary bureaucratic steps.
