The revised bill, HB 396, has shortened the time frame for divesting from publicly traded securities of companies identified as Russian entities from 180 days to just 90 days. This change aims to respond more swiftly to geopolitical concerns and encourages quicker action to avoid financial ties with Russian companies. Additionally, it maintains accountability for fiduciaries managing investments, ensuring they direct their managers to comply within the same 90-day period. This expedited timeline is significant as it reflects a heightened urgency among lawmakers to address issues related to international investments.
