The most significant change in Bill HB 97 is the shift in the effective date for considering a state land voucher as income for public assistance from January 1, 2023, to January 1, 2022. This means that individuals receiving public assistance will now have to account for these vouchers as income sooner than previously planned. This change is important because it impacts how benefits are calculated, potentially affecting financial support for eligible households. Additionally, the bill updates the relevant department's name from the "Department of Health" to the "Department of Health and Social Services," reflecting a broader scope of services.
