Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to Senate Bill 100 clarify how state taxes will be calculated for individuals and nonresidents. Instead of referencing "federal adjusted gross income," the bill now specifies that taxes will be based on the "total federal income tax due," which includes various federal taxes. This change ensures a more straightforward approach to determining state tax obligations and is intended to align state computations more closely with federal tax reporting, simplifying the process for taxpayers.
