The revised bill, HB 129, includes several key changes that improve clarity and update penalties related to sport fishing, hunting, and trapping. Notably, it allows individuals who receive a citation for not having their license on hand to avoid conviction if they show proof of a valid license within 90 days. The bill also increases fines for certain violations and clarifies that licenses can be presented in either paper or electronic format, which could make compliance easier for license holders. These changes are important as they aim to enhance enforcement while supporting responsible outdoor activities.
