The recent amendments to Bill SB 105 include provisions that enhance transparency in health care pricing. Specifically, the bill now requires health care providers and facilities to provide patients with "good faith estimates" of anticipated charges for services, detailing any potential additional fees and whether the provider is in-network for their insurance. This change matters because it helps patients understand their financial responsibilities upfront, potentially saving them from unexpected medical bills and improving access to mental health services by clearly outlining treatment costs.
