The latest version of HB 135 now allows for school districts to request an extension of up to seven years to meet their financial share for school construction projects. Previously, districts had to provide this share within three years following the passage of the grant funding bill. This change is important because it gives districts more flexibility and time to secure the necessary funds, which can be crucial for communities that may face financial challenges.
