The amended version of Bill HB 217 adds provisions allowing the Alaska Department of Natural Resources to sell promotional merchandise related to the "Alaska Grown" trademark and charge fees for it. Additionally, municipalities receiving state funds are now required to prioritize purchasing local agricultural and fisheries products if they are similarly priced to outside options. These changes are significant as they encourage local business support and promote the Alaska Grown brand, potentially benefiting the state's economy and agricultural sector.
