04 (i) In this section, "aquatic invasive species" means northern pike, didemnum 05 tunicate, European green crab, spartina, crayfish, or another organism introduced to a 06 marine or freshwater ecosystem to which it is not native and whose introduction 07 causes, or is likely to cause, economic or environmental harm or harm to human 08 health.
04 (i) In this section, "aquatic invasive species" means an aquatic species, 05 including the seeds, eggs, spores, larvae, or other biological material capable of 06 propagation of the species, that is not native to the state or ecosystem of interest and 07 the presence of which may cause economic or environmental harm.

To the extent possible, the commissioner of transportation and public 12 facilities shall ensure that a person who purchases a ticket for vehicle deck space on a 13 ferry for the purpose of transporting a vessel into the state is provided with any 14 information relating to aquatic invasive species that has been published in pamphlet 15 form by the Department of Natural Resources or the Department of Fish and Game.
