The revised version of SB 100 includes a notable addition regarding municipal tax exemptions and deferrals specifically for economic development properties. It clarifies that municipalities can provide a tax deferral for designated periods, but they cannot apply this to taxes levied for special services in certain areas supervised by a board. This change is significant because it aims to encourage economic growth while also ensuring that funding for essential local services is protected.
