Plain-language change summary

The amendment modifies Section 9 of P.L.1991, c.226 (C.18A:40-31) by replacing certain language to clarify how school districts calculate and report the number of pupils attending nonpublic schools. The new text specifies that districts provide an estimate of costs along with the number of nonpublic school pupils, while also stating what districts may do with unspent State aid. This change impacts the process by which districts receive funding based on the number of nonpublic school students, potentially affecting their budgeting and financial planning.
