The amendment to Bill A4047 adds an exemption for shellfish aquaculturists who hold commercial shellfish aquaculture permits and utilize predator screening systems, allowing them to take shellfish on Sundays without being subject to the existing prohibition. Additionally, the text shifts from a focus solely on clam aquaculturists to include all shellfish aquaculturists involved in structural aquaculture. This change is significant as it broadens the scope of who can legally harvest shellfish on Sundays, potentially impacting their operations and scheduling.
