The amendments to Senate Bill No. 2313 simplify the requirements for preserving plant growth material during oil and gas activities. Previously, there was a detailed process to document and preserve suitable plant material, including meetings and notifications to landowners. The current version streamlines this by removing those steps while still ensuring that reclamation can be waived under certain conditions. This change is significant because it reduces bureaucratic hurdles for oil and gas operations, potentially making it easier for companies to conduct their work while still addressing reclamation needs.
