Plain-language change summary

The latest version of Senate Bill 2011 increases the total funding allocated to the highway patrol by approximately $1.1 million over the next biennium, bringing the total from about $84 million to roughly $85 million. This includes a specific enhancement of nearly $1.2 million for essential services, which aims to better support operations. Additionally, the bill now explicitly states that the highway patrol must report on how these one-time funds are utilized to ensure transparency and effective use of taxpayer dollars. This change underscores the commitment to providing adequate resources for public safety while holding agencies accountable.
