The recent amendment to the District of Columbia Public Works Act clarifies that property owners and occupants must pay an impervious area charge set by DC Water. This change is significant because it reinforces DC Water's authority to assess charges based on the amount of impermeable surfaces on properties, which can help manage stormwater and improve local water management efforts. Additionally, the amendment updates the billing methodology to accurately reflect water consumption linked to the District’s water supply system.
