Under existing law, the United States Army, United States Navy, United States Marine Corps, United States Air Force, United States Coast Guard, and United States Space Force are collectively referred to as the United States Armed Forces.
Also, under existing law, the United States Armed Forces, along with the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Officer Corps, are collectively referred to as the United States Uniformed Services.
This bill would create the Troy Act.
This bill would provide that all references to the United States Uniformed Services in the Code of Alabama 1975, and other state law, shall include the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Officer Corps.
This bill would also direct the Code Commissioner to make conforming changes to the Code of Alabama 1975, as appropriate.
