Under existing law, certain Alabama licenses may not be issued to a foreign national for a period of less than 160 days.
This bill would reduce the minimum time period for which these licenses may be issued to a foreign national.
This bill would also make nonsubstantive, technical revisions to update the existing code language to current style.
A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT Relating to driver licenses;
"§32-6-10.1 Page 1 HB432 INTRODUCED (a) For the purposes of this section, the following terms have the following meanings:term "foreign national" shall mean a person (1) FOREIGN NATIONAL.
(c) Applications for a foreign national Alabama driver's license/non-driver identification card/vessel license shall be processed only at driver's driver license offices designated by the Director of the Alabama Department of Public Page 1 HB432 Enrolled Safety.
(e) The driver's license/non-driver identification card/vessel license issued to a foreign national shall expire Page 2 HB432 INTRODUCED on the date of the expiration of the acceptable form of immigration documentation provided at the time of application.
