Plain-language change summary

The changes to HB 222 involve clarifying how the Revenue Commissioner of Pickens County will receive their pay. The bill now specifies that the commissioner will get an extra $8,000 allowance for expenses each year until their next term, at which point their annual salary will be increased by the same amount. This matters because it sets a clear schedule for the compensation changes and ensures that the commissioner’s expense allowance is distinctly different from their base salary during the current term.
