The amendments to HB 199 have changed the continuation date of the Alabama Security Regulatory Board from October 1, 2027, to October 1, 2024. This change shortens the time the board will continue operating before it faces another review. This matters because it allows for a sooner assessment of how well the board is functioning and whether it should be allowed to continue beyond 2024.
