The changes made to House Bill 56 clarify the requirements for individuals wishing to practice independent clinical social work in Alabama. Specifically, the revision ensures that only those who are properly licensed as independent clinical social workers and have the necessary advanced degrees and supervised experience are eligible to practice. This is important because it reinforces professional standards in social work, ensuring that clients receive high-quality care from qualified practitioners.
