Plain-language change summary

The latest version of Bill SB 263 now includes provisions that allow the Sheriff of Etowah County to contract with other entities for service of process, along with a specific fee structure. It establishes a service of process fee of $35 per case, which will be paid into the Sheriff's Law Enforcement Fund and gives the Sheriff discretion over how to use these funds. This change is significant because it could improve the efficiency of serving legal documents while also providing additional funding for law enforcement activities in the county.
